A Slip Float Bobber
A slip float bobber rig is an easy way that lets you cast
out your batted hook and bobber. A slip float bobber is one that has a hole
through the center that lets it slide up and down the line.
You first slide a bead on the line, then put the line through
the bobber and then you put your hook, weight, snap swivel at the end of the
line.
You tie the bead on the line at the depth you wish to fish
at. The bait and bobber drop to the bottom of the line, and the bead is at the
tip of the real. You now can swing and flip the rod and pitch the bait and
bobber out. The combined weight of bait and bobber at the bottom of the line carries
the bait, bobber and the line out when you flip it.
When the bait and hook hit the water they sink. The bobber
floats up and stops at the bead on the line. Your line is out and the bobber is
set at the depth you wanted to fish at.
A bate casting reel set up works well with this, but other real types will work.
Have fun.
